This notice explains how Koalaa Technologies Ltd handles personal data shared with us through this website, koalaa.dev, and its contact form. We have written it to be short and plain.
Who we are
Koalaa Technologies Ltd is a company registered in the Republic of Mauritius under number C26240395, with its registered office at Avenue Paille en Queue, Morc St Daniel, Roches Brunes, Beau Bassin-Rose Hill, Mauritius. We design and run websites for businesses, and we are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry, the form collects:
- your name and the name of your business;
- your email address;
- your phone number, if you choose to give it;
- the type of business you run;
- the message you write to us.
Like most websites, our hosting provider also processes technical information such as your IP address when you visit, to deliver the pages and to protect the site against abuse, for example by limiting how often a form can be sent.
The typefaces on this website are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views and loading speed without cookies and without identifying you or following you across other websites. This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising tools.
Why we use it
We use the details you send only to reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, to discuss and prepare a project with you. We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 2 years from when you send them, so we can follow up on a conversation and refer back to what was agreed. After that they are deleted. If you become a client, the information needed to provide our services is kept for as long as that relationship requires.
Who processes it
Your enquiry is handled by Koalaa Technologies Ltd. This website and the systems that receive the form are hosted on Cloudflare, and the data is stored in the European Union. Notification emails about new enquiries are sent through an email delivery provider acting on our behalf. These providers process data only on our instructions.
Your rights
Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017, and the data protection law of your own country where it applies (for example the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom), you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] or send us a message through the contact form, and say what you would like us to do. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request, and we will reply within the time the Act allows.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Our clients’ websites
Businesses that use Koalaa to run their own websites are responsible for the personal data their customers share with them, for example bookings and enquiries. Their own privacy notices explain how they use it. We process that data on their behalf, securely and only to provide our services.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
